Report Viewer Redistribution

I am creating a .NET WinForm app and would like to include the files required for the ReportViewer component (SP1). Can someone tell me where I can find these files? Also, can I simply drop these files in the folder where the rest of my app is going to reside, or does an installation have to take place?

Thanks - Amos.

Teo,

Is the ReportViewer.Exe file the only alternative I have if I want to install the Viewer as part of my application? I would rather not force my uses to install my application and then install ReportViewer.Exe as a separate install step.

Amos.

Teo,

That was the point of my original question. What are all the required assemblies, and where are they? When I ran the ReportViewer.exe, it installed the assemblies but I couldn't tell what they were or where they went.

I appologize for missing your point. Go to GAC (C:\Windows\assembly). The assemblies whose names start with Microsoft.ReportViewer.* are the ReportViewer assemblies. There are six of them but depends on the your application technology you won't need all of them, e.g. you won't need the WebDesign and WebForms assemblies with Windows Forms applications.

To extract the assemblies from GAC you can use the GACViewer utility.

Teo,

Thank you very much!

Report Viewer

Hi
I'm using Visual Studio Beta 2
I have few questions about the ReportViewer WinForm Control.
When rendering a Server Report the Print button appears disabled is this by
design?
Also the Print Preview button is enabled but it does not do anything is this
also by design?
Any help is appreciated!!!
LuigiHi,
I am also facing the same problem. Without the print option the report is of
no use for our client. Please help on urgent basis.

Report Services Printing from WebBrowser Tool

I have WinForm app that includes a WebBrowser tool from the VisualStudio2005
toolbox. I load a Reporting Services Report into the WinForm's webBrowser
window as follows:
webBrowser1.Navigate(new Uri(reporturl));
This works great, except for when I try to print, I get the following message:
"An error occured trying to get the current window."
Any suggestions for getting a Reporting Service report to print from within
a WinForm's WebBrowser?
Thanks,
--
RandyHello Randy,
If you access the report via the http://, could you print it correctly?
Also, please try to remove the RSClientPrint Class in the IE and check
whether this issue appeared or not.
Remove the RSClientPrint Class from IE:
Tools >> Internet Options >> General Tab >> Settings >> View Objects >>
Right-click
RSClientPrint Class and choose Remove.
If you try to debug the application, what error did you get?
Please let me know the result so that I can provide further assistance.
Sincerely,
Wei Lu

If I access the report using http:// in Internet Explorer, it works
perfectly. If I access the report using http:// in the webBrowser tool in my
WinForm, it gives an error.

I removed the RSClientPrint Class in IE. I get the same results as above.
Printing works in IE, but not in the webBroswer tool in my WinForm.
> If you try to debug the application, what error did you get?
The first error dialog box is as follows:
Print Error:
An error occured trying to get the current window.
<OK>
The second error dialog box:
Error
A Runtime Error has occured.
Do you wish to Debug?
Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 8007f305.
<Yes>
Unable to attach to the crashing process. A debugger is already attached.
<OK>
All thoughts appreicated...
Randy|||Hello Randy,
This is a known issue in the Reporting Services 2005. Please update your
SSRS to SP1 and then have a check.
Thank you!
