Report Viewer toolbar problem

In my web page I have a report viewer with the print button turned on in properties, however when it is displayed I only get the navigation and export part. Would there be a reason for this?
Thanks for the help.

Hi

Install MSSRS Service Pack 2. That will solve your problem.

|||Adonis,
Thanks for the reply. Now I am using Report Services through SQL 2005 Standard and the Report Viewer through VS 2005 Standard if that matters any.
Where do I find the service pack for this that you mention?
Thanks for the information.|||

I think -

What CTP version of 2005 are you using? If July - upgrade

|||I have the full version of SQL 2005 Standard and Visual Studio 2005 Standard. These are the full release versions.|||

Good Evening!

Since I am on the other side of the world so to speak -

You have the "full" version - AND WITH ALL DUE RESPECT - did you purchase this - because if so - I would like to as well --

I can only get a CTP download here in BKK -

Give me some help here in that is this a general first release of 2005?

thank you

|||

I do have the "full" version of Standard (not Professional) for both Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005. These were offered at the Launch Parties. You can get the "full" version of the Express versions for free here:http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/. These are free for one year so if you download them now, there is no cost to you at all.

Hope this helps.

|||

I have researched the "full version" as you have claimed - and SORRY - there is not a FULL version of 2005 other than the CTP release

or

a possible "full" -- BS --- if your company has a relationship - which every company has a relationship!

So in your request please provide a mod and release # then we can help - but do not say to this forum you have a "FULL" release of a "standard" version of 2005...

Watch your words!

|||

Huh? So what, the November 7 launch never happened and the beta is still out there?

I do not know what you are talking about.

But thanks for the great help you have provided.

|||

Sorry about my post about the "FULl" version - please take no personal offense!

I modified the toolbar one time to change the background color and font... I lost the print button on some reports and on others I lost the export button... I never could figure out why - so I reverted back....

I just recently read something on Microsoft's www site about RS 2005 behavioral changes - and the first paragrap indicated problems with headers - maybe there is something in that article - I will go back and look up and post the link to the article -- maybe a small "glitch" in the initial release

Best regards

|||Not sure if you are still working on this. If you are running reports in local mode, the print icons will not be available. Client-side printing is only available in remote mode when you are calling an actual Report Server. Not sure if that applies to your setup or not. You can supposedly get printing to work by writing your own code, but we are just trying this now so not sure if it works or not.

Actually, I still am having the problem, but I do see what you are saying because I changed the processing mode to remote and the print button displays. So what I did is import the report to the SQL Reporting Server (I hope I did this right) by using the SQL Management Console.

Now though when I run the app, I am getting the following error:

"The path of the item "\Reports\report.rdlc" is not valid. The path must be less than 260 characters long and restrictions apply. (rsIndalidItemPath)"

What did I do wrong here?

Report Viewer Problem In ASP.NET 2.0

Hi i have a problem using Report Viewer With SQL Reporting Services 2005.

The problem is report toolbar is display but NO DATA is displayed and the report commes out as EMPTY :(. Even the parameters are passed successfully because i can see them in the text-boxes on the report parameters tool bar. But Report is Empty :(.

I have the following code.

ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportServerUrl = new Uri(@."http://localhost/ReportServer"); ;

string reportPath = @."/MMM_MSRS/WebFormEvents";

ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportPath = reportPath

string cmp_id = "3803";

string vcli_id = "23649";

string cnct_id = "1";

Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter[] Param = new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter[3];

Param[0] = new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter("cmp_id", cmp_id);

Param[1] = new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter("vcli_id", vcli_id);

Param[2] = new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter("cnct_id", cnct_id);

ReportViewer1.ServerReport.SetParameters(Param);

ReportViewer1.ServerReport.Refresh();

ReportViewer1.DataBind();

i think there might be problem in u r recordset.

you check u r resultset under the data tab of report designer. just pass the same parameters what you are passing in the report designer of the data tab(not on preview). check whether you are getting the results.

Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER)

This error is being displayed in the eventlog every minute. Any ideas on what it is referring too? I reviewed some posts but most point to specific problems of report server not running, or receiving this error during a run. We are receiving no errors at all. However this is jamming up the event viewer to make troubleshooting other issues very diffucult.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER)
Event Category: Management
Event ID: 107
Date: 3/23/2007
Time: 8:20:16 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SPECTRUM_DB2B
Description:
Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER) cannot connect to the report server database.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

It is stating that RS can not connect to it's database. A possible reason is the way you are connecting to the RS database. In the config tool if on the Database tab it says "Service Account" then it is using whatever account the windows service is running as. It is possible someone changed this account via another tool and this account does not have rights to read the DB.

The easiest way to fix this is to go to the Database tab in the configuration tool and select "Script...". Then select "Grant Rights Script", enter the username and hit OK. After this, run the script on the SQL server. The windows service user should now be able to connect to the SQL server, making the error go away.

Report Server URL vs Report Manager URL

What is the difference between Report Server URL and Report Manager URL?
What does the URL's look like when displayed?
Thank you.http://<servername>/reports is basically Report Manager URL
http://<servername>/reportserver is for report server URL, where you deploy.
Is this you had asked for ? let me know if not.

However, where can I find technical documents using filters with reports in
CRM?

that passes the appropriate parameters to a report then what you want is URL
Access (Search on URL phrase in Books Online).
