Report subscription and Failure sending mail:

I am using Reporting Services 2005. SP1 is applied (version 9.0.2047). I configured one of the reports with subscription and sending
report via email. I used Report Manager to setup the report subscriptions,
but I get the following status message:

"Failure sending mail: The Report Server has encountered a configuration
error; more details in the log files"

The log file contains the following:

ERROR: Throwing
Microsoft.ReportingServices .Diagnostics.Utilities.ServerConfigurationErrorE-xception: The Report Server has encountered a configuration error. See the report server log files for more information., AuthzInitializeContextFromSid: Win32 error: 110;

Any ideas?

I am also getting the error on SQL Server 2005 with SP1 and am currently trying to get the email working.

The only bit of extra information I can give is that when I do

net helpmsg 110

I get: The system cannot open the device of file specified.

As yet, I have no idea what device or file report server is trying to open.

I'll update this message if I figure this out.

report server service stopping unexpectedly

we run ssrs 2005 sp2 hotfix applied - how do we troubleshoot a problem where the report server service is stopping unexpectedly several times a day. When this happens please tell me what happens to the reports that are currently running. I believe that

1) a current subscription that is running will fail - not sure if it will try to restart itself 3 times or not

2) connection to the report server db cannot be made when that occurs

this is a huge problem for us and we dont know what is causing it or how to fix it. Any suggestions would help. I can tell you that our customers flood the server with subscriptions

Hi,

You can find detailed informaion about the SSRS service in the log files at this location:

<drive:>\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.<n>\Reporting Services\LogFiles\

It should help to identify the problem.

Regards,

Janos

thanks - but I am already aware of the log files at that location and looking in them is not telling me the reason why the service is stopping unexpectedly. There isnt anything in the log file that I can see which would indicate that behavior.

Please ... if there is something I am missing that you are aware of ... a particular type of error that would cause the service to stop then let I would like to know about it. Thank you.
