report viewer web.config settings for remote mode without session state

Hi
I am using the new report viewer control that comes with VS2005. My
application does not use session state as it is clustered and so I have been
following the Microsoft article for implementing the IReportViewerConnection
and then adding a key for the ReportServerConnection in the web.config file.

My implementation of the interface is called ReportServerConnection and is
within a namespace called eNate.ESP.ESPWeb.
In my web.cofig file I have the following key

value="eNate.ESP.ESPWeb.ReportServerConnection, ReportServerConnection" />
When I try to load the asp.net page which contains the report viewer control
I get the following error message
Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.InvalidConfigFileTypeException: The type
eNate.ESP.ESPWeb.ReportServerConnection,
eNate.ESP.ESPWeb.ReportServerConnection does not implement
IReportServerConnection or could not be found.
I am definately implementing the interface but which ever way I try to
reference the class in the web.config key I always get this error.
The documentation about how to add this key file is not very clear and I
have not seen any other posts about this subject.
Could somebody please let me know how to reference this class correctly as I
think that is causing the error.

As for the custom IReportServerConnection class, we need to specify the
AssemblyQualified name which include the Class's full name, assembly name,
version, culture and publickeytoken info. For example:

value="ControLibrary.SimpleReportServerConnection, ControLibrary,
Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null"/>
You can printout the class's assemblyQualified name through the below code:

typeof(ControLibrary.SimpleReportServerConnection).AssemblyQualifiedName);
In addition, I agree that the document about the ReportViewer web.config
interfaces is not quite complete and sufficient. I suggest you also submit

Report Viewer Jump to URL error after drilldown

Hello,

I'm using an ASPX page + ReportViewer + remote report with drilldown and Jump to Url (target _blank) in IE 6.

The ReportViewer's property AsyncRendering is set to true.

After drilldown, if i click on the text with the navigation action "Jump to Url", i have this error message in IE : Javascript Error : can't execute code from a freed script.

The jump to URL "works", but not in a "blank" page (in the same page of the ReportViewer).

If the the ReportViewer's property AsyncRendering is set to false, "Jump to Url" works fine (in a new IE page). But my report is very large, and i need the AsyncRendering set to true.

The only solution i found is to use IFrame with direct URL access to ReportServer, instead of ReportViewer.

I would prefer to use ReportViewer, so if someone as an idea of this problem, many thanks for is help !

I am having the same error that Frederic is having. not only that my web page is loading within the report viewer I am getting the same script error. When I set AsyncRendering =false, the script error goes away and web page loads correctly( in the same browser); however, my report is centered in the report viewer and I have to scroll to the right to see it. Everytime I expland or collapse the focus changes and I can't see the report unless I scroll to the right(that's annoying)

I am working with local reports since the data for my report come from class objects. I am not publishing my reports to the report server. Is there a way to accomplish this with Frames without the report viewer? If so please let me know. I have been having this problem for 2 weeks now and I am not finding any resolution for it.

I will appreciate any help I coul get with this.

Hi Mini,

I'm using a Report Server, not a local report, that's why instead of using ReportViewer i can use an IFrame with an URL to my ReportServer.

In the ASPX page i have declared :

<iframeid="frameRS"runat="server"src="http://localhost/ReportServer?/ReportFolder/Report1&rs:Command=Render&rc:LinkTarget=blank"width="100%"height="100%"></iframe>

In this exemple, the Report Server is local (localhost/ReportServer).

It's possible to change the value of the src property (C# exemple in the .aspx.cs file) :

this.frameRS.Attributes["src"] ="http://localhost/ReportServer?/ReportFolder/Report2&rs:Command=Render&rc:LinkTarget=blank";

Unfortunately, i'm not sure that you can use this solution with a local report.

I managed to get my report loaded into the Frame and executed the hyperlink. However I am encountered with a new problem

My report is pretty wide and the report is not showing all of it to the right. I know my frame width is 100% thus I am not getting the scrollbar but some how part of the report on the right is missing. I am thinking it is not being returned from the report server. Howerver if I directly go to the server and run it, I see it all

Any idea what is going on

Report Viewer control Javascript error with empty report

I'm having an issue with the reportviewer control for vs2005. I've tried both local and remote reports and it's the same for both... but here's the issue. I have a group of parameters that are passed from the page into the report to filter out the data, simple. Problem is if the parameters cause no data to be returned, then i get a javascript error 'Object required' on line 13 char 692 of page Reserverd.ReportViewerWebControl.axd

I've looked in google to see if there has been anyone else with this issue and haven't found anything. I've checked IIS to make sure that the file manager for axd does not have the check box 'check if exists'. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Report Services Install problems!

Installing Reporting Services with IIS and Report Services running on one
machine and Reporting databases on remote SQL Server. Getting the error below
when attempting to view http://servername/reports page.

I received the same message on my lab computer after making it domain
controller (Win2K, SP4). In KB824308 I found some useful information that
helped me to some extent. Now rs is at least able to show part of the
standard page.
I still receive an error, though: "Internal error. The profile for the user
is a temporary profile". Aaaaaargh!

Report Services can't connect to remote DB

I have 2 servers. The first with SBS 2003 and SQL 2005 (Workgroup edition).
The full install was done for SQL 2005 (all features). My report server DB's
are running on the SBS server. The second is a W2k3 R2 server with an app DB
running on SQL 2000.
I have created a report that extracts data from the remote SQL2000 DB. The
report runs fine through Business Intelligence. When I build and deploy
the report, the report can't connect to the DB. I get an error message "
Impossible to create a connection to the DB. This fonction is not supported
in this version of reporting services.(This is a translation since message is
in French).
I have tried using a Windows authentication connection and also with sa.
Do I really need to get SQL 2005 Standard Ed.?

Report Server Not Activated

I have a Report Server where I have had to change the IP address of the
server and to the remote database server. After the IP address change, I
started receiving the following message when I access the report manager.
The report server installation is not initialized. Check the documentation
for more information. (rsReportServerNotActivated)
I have tried running rsactivate with no success. I have also ran rsconfig
to ensure my database connection is valid as well as rskeymgmt to delete and
reinstall the keys.
